7:00 - 8:30pm – Performances

Our theme this week is
THE HALIFAX EXPLOSION !!

On December 6, 1917…
the face of north end Halifax changed forever when the French munitions ship SS Mont-Blanc collided with the Belgian relief ship SS Imo in the Narrows of Halifax Harbour.

The story of the Halifax Explosion is a tale of sadness and sorrow for sure, but also…
one of strength and courage under adversity.

The Helen Creighton Folklore Society and WTF! proudly present our first ever
CONCERT evening. This concert is dedicated to the memory of the lives lost and the stories of triumph and tragedy surrounding the Halifax Explosion and features
DAVID STONE & FRIENDS.

David is a well-respected singer-songwriter & historian who has, since the mid 1990s, been thoroughly researching all aspects of the Halifax Explosion... from events leading up to it, the aftermath, some of the personal stories of survivors and heroes, as well as the widely believed sabotage story... and has chronicled it in spoken word & song.

As always... admission is by free will donation.
Tonight... WTF! will be giving all donations to APSEA and the Halifax School for the Blind (Sir Frederick Fraser School) at David's bequest.

And for the first time ever... until December 5th... David is hosting Halifax Explosion talking/walking tours around various sites in the north end...11, 1 and 3 daily – weather permitting... approximately 90 minutes... $10.00 per person.
