Fall Finale of WTF: What the Folk!

Hello gang,

On Friday, November 17th... WTF invites you to our...

... not the best of f words with FALL proclaiming the coming of brrrrr! winter and with it... the potential for falling which isn't any fun for ageing hips... and FINALsignifying the end of something and in this case... the end of something special which was our relationship with Spencer House but in this case... we are hoping to turn the evening into a celebration.

Bertha and her staff & volunteers have made us feel most welcome and given us a fabulous musical home for almost 3 years! We will miss their warmth and wonderful treats as we move on to a new chapter in the life of WTF! More on that to come.

But for now... as we bid a fond farewell to Spencer House and wish them well in their new endeavours... we invite performers to bring what you feel best represents your legacy during these past 3 years here... what you feel the audience most appreciates from your musical or storytelling toolbox.

As always... we encourage folks interested in acoustic music to come and listen. You will be guaranteed laughter... and not necessarily due to the quality of the musicianship :)

WTF! is an artistic outreach program of the Helen Creighton Folklore Society.
Now in its 8th year, WTF!
is primarily an acoustic unplugged open-mike session for performers of all ages in the traditional & folk music vein... singers, instrumentalists and storytellers in particular.

Co-hosted by the ever-jovial Cindy Campbell-Stone & Margo Carruthers with occasional guest hosts, WTF!
meets every second and fourth Friday of the month at Spencer House Community Centre, 5596 Morris Street in Halifax where sing-a-longs are known to spontaneously erupt and laughter is always a given.

Come anytime after 6:30pm. Entertainment starts around 7:00
and goes until 9:00ish. As always... admission is by free-will donation
towards the Society's work. All proceeds from the sale of baked goods and beverages from the Spencer House kitchen will go to help support the operation of Spencer House.

Parking is available on site behind the building after 6:00pm, and on some of the neighbouring streets. Avoid areas displaying Permit Parking signs.
